Urban Effects Timber Brushed Hardwood

Product Details
Urban Effects Timber Brushed Hardwood by Hartco is a 6½" width product that displays the natural beauty and texture of white oak. Its unique brushed surface texture, combined with a low gloss finish, provides a warm and inviting atmosphere to any room. So, what is engineered hardwood? Engineered hardwood has multiple layers of plywood or MDF and positions it in different directions. However, the construction of engineered hardwood is different among manufacturers. As a result, each layer is what gives it durable, high-performance quality. Consequently, the layered construction prevents the hardwood from warping and bowing in humid areas. Therefore, the advantage over solid wood is that the construction allows for installation in most homes.
Wire-Brushed
The procedure of creating wire-brushed hardwood flooring involves rubbing a steel wire brush in a rotational motion over the wood's surface to remove grain, creating a textured or distressed surface. There are two types of texture depth: light and heavy. Light texture denotes a subtle texture, while heavy texture denotes a deeper, more pronounced finish.
Hardwood Installation
Engineered hardwood floors can be installed in several different ways. The most popular is float it, which means putting a pad underneath it. Or you can glue it down. Both have their advantages. Gluing down a floor makes it sound denser with little to no noise like high heels. But it is harder on the feet and harder to remove if you ever want to change it. Floating requires a pad under it. It has more of an echoing sound but the better padding the better the sound absorption. Both are great options.
