Lakeport Plantation Hickory Engineered Hardwood by Earthwerks is 1/2" European Hickory product. Whether you favor classic European Oak or the traditional American Hickory, the Plantation Lakeport is sure to please. Each plank will have micro and chiseled beveled edges and has a subtle wire brush surface treatment, adding a more refined look. Whether you're designing a contemporary or casual style, the elegance of the natural wood grain easily visible in every plank. In addition, it's protected with a UV oil finish system that allows your floor to appear marvelous without much effort. What is engineered hardwood? Engineered hardwood has multiple layers of plywood or MDF and positions it in different directions. However, the construction of engineered hardwood is different among manufacturers. As a result, each layer is what gives it durable, high-performance quality. Consequently, the layered construction prevents the hardwood from warping and bowing in humid areas. Therefore, the advantage over solid wood is that the construction allows for installation in most homes. The veneer is the top layer.
