Kumea is a warm golden brown.  Of Course, If left untreated, your flower pot will turn a silvery grey color. This is true with all-natural hardwoods.  To avoid this, use deck oil.  It will protect it from UV rays.   Therefore, bring out the natural grains in the wood.  Kumea hardwood is a gorgeous and rare Indonesian wood. Illegal logging practices are a worldwide problem. Woodlands and forests are being illegally stripped at an alarming rate. Therefore, the Indonesian government has taken a stand.   Their tree plantations are now strictly managed. There are rigorous controls on the age, size, and number of trees harvested from each plantation.  Furthermore, the Indonesian government oversees the process to ensure these trees are protected. This means that no healthy trees that are too small are removed from a forest. Hence, this wood is referred to as Indonesian Legal Wood. Strict replanting programs are also in place on these plantations. Consequently, replanting ensures sustainable and beautiful forests for generations to come.
