True North Genesis Engineered hardwood is a 3/8″ rustic-looking product.  What is engineered hardwood? Engineered hardwood has multiple layers of plywood or MDF and positions it in different directions. However, the construction of engineered hardwood is different among manufacturers. As a result, each layer is what gives it durable, high-performance quality. Consequently, the layered construction prevents the hardwood from warping and bowing in humid areas. Therefore, the advantage over solid wood is that the construction allows for installation in most homes.

The veneer is the top layer. Constructed with different species of wood, the veneer or top layer is what gives it that one-of-a-kind look of natural wood.  The Genesis Collection is finished with a durable, aluminum oxide urethane coating.  The aluminum oxide urethane and UV oil finish resist household scuffing on hardwood flooring like no other.  Therefore, it provides the protection needed to help preserve the elegant look of your floor for many years to come.
