Cougar Top Gun Polyester Carpet is a stunning, multi color carpet that will upgrade any room. This 55-ounce carpet is solution dyed. Solution dying is kind of like the color of a carrot. When you cut a carrot, the color is orange through and through. The color remains the same throughout the carrot. Solution-dyed carpet is a polymer in the form of a pellet. This pellet is already the color of the carpet. The pellet is then extruded into the carpet fiber where it is never dyed. There are some serious benefits to a solution-dyed carpet. For starters, it is one of the most colorfast materials in the industry. For example, spaces that get lots of natural sunlight, won’t fade. Also, you could use a 50/50 solution of bleach and water to spot clean the carpet. Because it starts the color, it will not fade.
The Top Gun Collection is a 55-oz face weight. The ounces of the carpet is the weight of the carpet pile per square yard. It’s important to know that the face weight only includes the weight of the fibers, not the backing. So the higher the ounces, the more plush your carpet will be.
Carpet warms up a room and reduces energy bills with the natural insulation of the carpet. Polyester carpeting is inherently stain resistant. When it comes to stains it outperforms both nylon and wool. Additionally, polyester carpeting is very soft and significantly less expensive than either nylon or wool. Because of the price advantage, we will tend to see polyester used in newly built homes. You will also see it in existing homes going on the market. Previously polyester carpets had poor resiliency and tended to crush under heavy traffic areas. Well, not anymore. Through the years technology has improved the performance of polyester carpets. It is much more durable than the old generations of polyester. Also, polyester comes in much more vibrant colors.
